From Crisis to Opportunity

Many people have been asking us, what has been going on with SafePlace? Since last May, when all government funding to SafePlace 4KIDS was cut, 4KIDS has been on an incredible ride.

We are happy to tell you that the community’s overwhelming response to "Save SafePlace" ensured that 4KIDS will continue providing compassionate care and 24/7 provisions to hundreds of kids in crisis for another 12 months! We are amazed by this response, and now we sense momentum is building for something greater.

The Facts Are:

• The state simply cannot afford to care for kids in crisis
• More kids than ever are coming through SafePlace—last week we had 22 kids in 1 day!
• Budget cuts have triggered the demand for more certified, “Safe Families”

The Vision:

For 15 years, 4KIDS has provided HOPE to over 17,000 kids in crisis in our community. Our vision is to make SafePlace a beacon of HOPE—not just for the first 24 hours as a child transitions into foster care, but to follow up with every child through a support team of Safe Families from local churches.
