The statistics are staggering – according to the Child Welfare League of America, on any given day in the US there are more than 500,000 kids living in foster care. In South Florida, there are over 4,000 children who have been removed from their parents. These are children, who through no fault of their own, have been torn from their family and placed into the foster care system. They have done no wrong, and they are frightened, they are uncertain of their future, and they need our love and our care.

At 4KIDS of South Florida, we believe that we are part of the solution to the Foster Care problem in our community. You are most likely aware that South Florida’s Foster Care system has been in trouble for many years. In the last few years, through community-based care, significant improvements have been made. We at 4KIDS continue to work diligently towards making positive changes in the system from the ground up. We have made great strides by recruiting, training, and licensing hundreds of outstanding foster homes. As we seek to find permanent solutions for the kids in our care, we do all we can to help reunify these kids with their families.  And if they cannot be reunified, we work to get them adopted. In total we have had more than 200 children adopted into permanent homes. But there is still much to be done!

•    Become a Safe Family
•    Get your Church involved
•    Become a Volunteer or a Mentor
•    Support 4KIDS financially

During National Foster Care Month, please pray and ask God to show you how you can labor together with us as we care for the abused, neglected and abandoned youth in our community. Together, we can find a home for every child in crisis.
