Volunteering AT 4KIDS
Volunteers are Essential To 4KIDS’ Ministry
Being a 4KIDS volunteer is a tangible way to provide hope to kids in crisis. Volunteers help 4KIDS stretch resources, improve efficiencies, and provide better service to the children and families we serve.
If you want to volunteer, please click on I’m Interested or contact the designated 4KIDS staff for the specific volunteer opportunity listed below.
VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES INCLUDE
FOSTER PARENT
For couples and singles willing to open their home to a child in need of love, stability, and hope, we offer training and support to become a foster parent. If you are interested in becoming a foster parent, please contact Joan Englert at JoanE@4KIDSofsfl.org or 954-556-4685.
SAFE FAMILIES
When a crisis strikes, many of us rely on relatives and friends for support. Through 4KIDS Safe Families, parents experiencing a temporary crisis can arrange for their children to stay with a Christian family while they address the issues that led to their situation. If you are interested in becoming a Safe Family, please contact Cami Helms at CamiH@4KIDSofsfl.org or 954-556-4717.
CRISIS PREGNANCY (HIS CARING PLACE)
His Caring Place’s program offers love and guidance to young women struggling with crisis pregnancies. Some of the ways to volunteer include baby rocking, participating in Bible studies, teaching life skills, mentor/birth coaching, or joining a “Save the Day” team. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer for His Caring Place, please contact Jane Hall at JaneH@4kidsofsfl.org or 954-556-4693.
SAFEPLACE CHILD & YOUTH WORKER
The Volunteer Child & Youth Worker is responsible for direct care service to children ages 0-17 who are admitted to SafePlace, an emergency intake shelter in Broward County. This person helps provide care and comfort to the children being served. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer for SafePlace, please contact Jane Hall at JaneH@4kidsofsfl.org or 954-556-4693.
MENTOR/TUTOR VOLUNTEER
4KIDS needs mentors and tutors to provide a listening ear, encouraging words, and knowledgeable instruction to the children and youth in our care. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer for this program, please contact Jane Hall at JaneH@4kidsofsfl.org or 954-556-4693.
OFFICE SUPPORT
The office support volunteer provides administrative assistance to the 4KIDS staff including filing, mailings, data entry, and organizing donated items. If you are interested in becoming an office support volunteer, please contact Jane Hall at JaneH@4kidsofsfl.org or 954-556-4693.
SPECIAL EVENTS
Each year, 4KIDS hosts several events that require many volunteers. Gala, BiG Cardio & 5K, auctions, golf tournaments, and vision tours are successful because of volunteers who get involved with event preparation, promotions, sponsorship, concessions, set-up/breakdown, etc. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer for this program, please contact Jane Hall at JaneH@4kidsofsfl.org or 954-556-4693.
ADVOCACY
Advocate - one who pleads the cause of another. Educate, engage and have economic impact by connecting your co-workers, business partners, foundations, civic groups, and concerned citizens with assisting children in crisis. If you are interested in joining an Advocacy Committee, please contact Janet Negron at JanetN@4kidsofsfl.org or 954-556-4712.
At 4KIDS, we recognize the decision to be a part of this ministry requires prayer and a special calling that only the Lord places on your heart. We believe in providing permanent solutions for the foster care crisis in our community, and by taking this next step, you are becoming part of that solution.
